The elements of the production include a music video, an album into Digipak, and a social media page promoting the song. In the project, I used cross-media marketing/branding throughout to promote the products. I incorporated the same font on the front page and back of the digipak, which can also be seen on our social media page. This shows that the product has factors that make our overall project recognizable. Throughout the products, I keep the color scheme to help recognize my artist and give her uniqueness and aesthetics.
The color scheme I have gone with is mainly beige, light beige, and mostly brown. Beige creates that sense of calmness and tranquility. It's also versatile; with an underlying palette of beige, it's easy to add pops of color at my discretion. Brown symbolizes a sense of strength and reliability, as well as feelings of warmth, comfort, and security. Using the same tone of color helps us elicit the same emotions across all the platforms. Along with that, I showed the elements of the music video, mainly the outfits and the props such as toy bubbles, and skateboards, in all the pictures on the Digipak and social media page, making a direct reference to the music video.
On the digipak, which it provided the name of the social media page, which was used to promote the music video, by adding the "coming soon" posts with the background of the nature tree. I used the same font in using the vintage style for the word "Western Wind" in every element to further create a sense of branding and make the product more recognizable. Each post on the social media page was also captioned with lyrics from the song, once again creating a sense of branding and linking the two elements together. Additionally, we added a link to the music video in the bio of the social media page saying “Western Wind”, which is how most artists promote their songs on social media.
Overall, the combination of emotional vibrancy, visual aesthetics, setting, connectivity, and music lend the video a distinction of its own. This branding can be used to promote the artist’s music, her versatility, and above all a unique tie with the audience, as it creates a perceptible identity that sets the video apart from others in its genre.
